GAYATRI DEVI VASUDEV Editor: THE ASTROLOGICAL MAGAZINE Trustee : RAMAN & RAJESWARI RESEARCH FOUNDATION Partner : RAMAN PUBLICATIONS Mrs. Gayatri Devi Vasudev is the Editor of The Astrological Magazine. She was actively involved with Dr. B.V. Raman, until his death in 1998, in his mission to bring astrology into the comity of sciences. She continues his mission. She is also the national Vice President of the Indian Council of Astrological Sciences founded by Dr. B.V. Raman in 1984 to organise the study and practise of astrology. The Astrological Magazine, which was restarted in 1936 by Dr. B.V. Raman and edited by him for over 62 years, until his passing away in December 1998, is the world’s foremost and most authentic journal on Jyotisha or Hindu astrology with an international readership. Gayatri Devi Vasudev’s predictions in The Astrological Magazine include the assassination of Mrs. Indira Gandhi, the election of George Bush, Ramakrishna Hegde’s chief-ministership and subsequent loss of power, Benazir Bhutto’s prime ministership and exit, the “end of the Rajiv era”, the return of Banazir Bhutto, the re-election of Bill Clinton, the death of King Hussain of Jordan, the formation and continuance of the BJP led Government in India, the Kargil war, the prime-ministership of A.B. Vajpayee etc., etc., the fire in the Bharatpur arms-depot, violence in Lanka, Nawaz Sharief’s exit and military rule in Pakistan, the 26th Jan. 2001 Gujarat earthquake (The A.M., Jan. 2000), the earthquakes in Central America, Russia and Central Afghanistan (The A.M., Jan. 2000), the defence scams (Jan. 2001), terrorist attacks against U.S.A. etc. Gayatri Devi Vasudev’s academic career in physics and mathematics and later on, in law, from Bangalore University was spotted with distinction and university ranks, but she found the study of astrology irresistible which she took up full time after her college studies Gayatri Devi Vasudev has authored many books on astrology that include Advanced Techniques of Prediction, The Art of Matching Charts, Practical Horary Astrology and How to Judge a Horoscope — Volume II. She has brought out a collection of papers under the title Astrology and the Hoax of “Scientific Temper” in which she endeavours to point out the unscientific stance of scientists against astrology. She has, with her father Dr. B.V.Raman, edited Planets and the Next World War in which she analyses the prospects of a Third World War on the basis of major planetary configurations. She has compiled the book Astrology in Predicting Weather and Earthquakes covering Dr. B.V. Raman’s pioneering work in forecasting weather and earthquakes based on principles of astrology. Mrs. Gayatri Devi Vasudev has also edited Astrology, Vastu and Architecture
a collection of papers presented at the First All India Conference
on Vastu held in Bangalore in June 1995 and organised by the Raman
and Rajeswari Research Foundation. Gayatri Devi Vasudev was the first woman to deliver the keynote address at the Third International Symposium on Vedic Astrology in November 1994 at San Rafael, California when she was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for her contribution to the cause of astrology. She also participated in the IV International Symposium held at San
Deigo in February 1996 as a special invitee. She also delivered the
keynote address at the Seventh International Symposium organised by
ACVA at Sedona, Arizona, in the United States on January 29, 2000. She has been nominated Woman of the Year - 1998 by the American Biographical Institute and International Woman of the Millennium by the International Biographical Centre, Cambridge. The IBC has also included her among the 2000 Outstanding People of the 20th Century. She has also been nominated to receive the Outstanding Speaker Award
by the International Biographical Centre, Cambridge. Her name figures
in the International Whos Who of Professional and Business Women.
She has received innumerable titles from different organisations in
appreciation of her work in astrology. She has addressed several clubs and organisations and participated in seminars and workshops in different places in India and abroad.
